New (Recycled) Stable Doors!

stable_roof_clearedOur outbuilding is an old stable with tack room and as such has some very old stable doors on it; well, mostly falling off it to be more accurate! Anyway, I ‘commissioned’ my dad (Rick) to make us some new ones, but only out of old wood, whatever he could find around the place that had been left over from all the renovation work. (more…)

Turning into a Building Site …

We knew it would happen sooner or later, but Waterloo Farm really is turning from a house that was lived in until quite recently, into a building site! It’s amazing how quickly the transformation has taken place really, and that’s without any official building works yet! Why the new ‘building site’ status? I hear you ask. Well, most of the ground floor carpets have been removed now in preparation for digging up all the floors for the underfloor heating (UFH) installation, and carpets, however dirty, certainly help to make a place feel more like a home. Stable Roof Cleared and Patched

Just wanted to recognise the fantastic efforts of my Father-in-Law Rick in helping clear the stable roof of all the growth and patching it up! It was a busy day, but we did get from covered to cleared.

A Family Affair

The grass needed cutting (again!), we wanted to sort out the stable and generally tidy up. We had some very generous offers of help from the family and we took full advantage of them …
