You may recall I planted several hundred daffodil bulbs around the garden last Autumn which had been kindly donated by some friends. In particular I planted loads in our front bed (read about it here) hoping to have a great Springtime display. Despite the fact that the front bed has, at times, been like a quagmire over the winter (sooooo wet and boggy), the daffs have done surprisingly well and have indeed treated us to a really lovely view for several weeks. There are some that need digging up and replanting as they came up blind, but all-in-all they were a great success, so many thanks to Kate and Andrew for the sackful on bulbs!

How the Daffodils Turned Out!!
Wednesday, March 31st, 2010How to Plant Daffodil Bulbs by Tammy!
Friday, November 6th, 2009Tammy’s method for planting ‘lots of’ Daffodil bulbs:
- Get Husband to dig a big trench 3 times the depth of the bulbs
- Line bottom with sharp sand (helps with the drainage as daffodils don’t like wet roots)
- Gently sink bulbs into sand
- Rake back soil and gently firm
- Wait for Spring!
