Tree Removal JCB Style!

Tree Down!I posted earlier in the week that the JCB featured quite heavily on Saturday, well another task that I asked Liam to perform was removing the Silver Birch trunk.

It was a very graceful ‘timber’ in the end as the roots slowly ripped their slow paths through the grass and it was over an out.

One Man and His JCB! (Well two men actually)

Drain repairs from downpipeWe noticed soon after we had purchased Waterloo Farm that the downpipe from the existing kitchen was not actually taking the water away from the house, but it was just ‘appearing’ out of a brick in the house! We then discovered that the drain was totally blocked with mud and silt. We had hoped that a simple ‘rodding’ of the drain would fix it, but this proved impossible so we only had one choice, to dig it up! So on Saturday afternoon Liam and Lee were back, and very helpfully with a shiny JCB!

Driveway and Brickweave Continues – GSD Lambert and Sons

Driveway GroundworksMuch better weather today saw the work to the entrance of the driveway continue. The brickweave started and it really looks great! Liam Lambert, one of the brothers of GSD Lambert and Sons Ltd, has been laying it, which I gather is something of a change from his usual day job – check out who is the JCB No.1 Operator for 2008!! I shall pull his leg next time I see him!
