To Do List 2010!
It might seem a bit late to share this, but we sat down at the beggining of the year and made the following list of targets we wanted to achieve on The Farm in 2010:
Inside:
- Install 2 x wall lights in ensuite bathroom – complete!
- Install 6 x downlighters in family bathroom – in progress
- Family Room/Kitchen completed
- Lino in downstairs toilet
- Flooring in Hall & study
- Finish Loft Insulation and platforms – complete!
- Finish sorting out loft boxes
- Shelving in airing cupboard
- ‘Dress’ ensuite to an interim standard
- ‘Dress’ family bathroom to an interim standard
- ‘Dress’ downstairs toilet to an interim standard
- Paint E’s bedroom
- Paint M’s bedroom
- Paint O’s bedroom
- Decorate Hall – in progress
- Sort out dodgy plaster in study
- Hang door on ensuite
- Install energy bulbs on the landing
- Explore options for internal doors
- Explore window options – complete!
- Source a carpenter – complete!
- Insulate and plasterboard underside of stairs
- Cut out opening in chimney for cooker
- Install new window in family room – in progress
- Repair airing cupboard wall
- Repair cupboards in M’s bedroom – complete!
- Repair lead flashing on chimneys
- Fit additional Sun Pipe over stairs
- Complete stair case – in progress
- Wire up radiator probe in en-suite – complete!
Outside:
- Lighting:
- Outside socket on West end of house
- Security lights on utility end wall; patio and front of house – complete!
- Security lights on garage x 3 – in progress
- Electricity into stable and put up festoon

- Commission and erect House Sign
- Explore planning application for stable – in progress
- Plant up large shrubbery – complete!
- Plant up front bed – complete!
- Edge large shrubbery

- Plant Laurel’s in front of neighbour’s garage – Complete!
- Install guttering on garage
- Paint the garage and sort out climbing plants (both sides?)
- Finish stable doors with bolts etc.
- Put up front fencing/hedging?
- Put up fencing for vegetable garden – complete!
- Put up fencing for chickens
- Prepare ground for coppice – complete!
- Plant willow setts for coppice – in progress
- Plant ornamental garden trees – complete!
- Plant weeping willow by ‘pond’ in paddock
- Get chickens
- Prepare 2 raised beds
- Spray off triangular bed, remove shrubs and re-turf (leave cherry for now?)
- Gravel driveway
- Lay turf in the rest of the turning circle
- Re-seed over land drain
- Get some play equipment for the kids (cement swings in)
- Touch up outside paint where necessary
- Paint boundary fence at the front
- Plant in gaps of boundary fence
I think we must be mad…but in two months of BAD weather we have achieved a lot and the items in progress are near completion so not a bad two months of work!
