I have a pheasant that comes into the garden, last year he brought his other half and the kids. He'll run off down the drive and hide in the bushes when you go out, but if you are very quiet he will wander about the garden while you are out there.

Hi Jen,

I am afraid we do not do any extensions, just re-modelled the internal layout of the house. I would not risk not using a structural engineer personally, clay lump is incredibly heavy! Good luck with the project.

Dear Hannant Family

I am the recently appointed Community Liaison Officer for Caring Homes group.

We have 60 care homes for older people in the UK and five in Norfolk.

My role is to encourage community involvement with our care homes, linked to activities we provide for the residents.

I googled "Daffodil bulb planting" and your website came up. Mention of Wymondham Baptist Church alerted me to the fact that you are local (I live in Wymondham), hence the urge for me to make contact.

I am putting together a series of themed activities for next year and one of them is Daffodil Day. The plan was to get our residents "helping" to plant daffodil bulbs so Tammy's planting instructions were very timely. Thank you.

Best wishes to you all.

Not sure about this dead rabbit suggestion, but you should definitely have your septic tank emptied annually in order that the scum does not build up in the tank and cause blockages, when it overflows it's a little late.

The other problems that you may experience with septic tanks are that the soakaway may get blocked and stop working. This usually occurs due to where it is located, the water table and how much rain we have had. A company that deal with septic tank emptying in Cornwall and Devon is Clear Flow. If you look under the Yellow Pages then there are plenty of service providers in your area, I recommend not ignoring this type of maintenance as repairs and unblockages can be expensive.

Hello there,
We have recently moved into a 200 year old cottage built from clay lump in suffolk.
We have had planning consent for our proposed extension ( which we intend to do our selves) but are experiencing problems with the calculation of weight paths for when we knock through the gable wall........any ideas?
We have been advised to use a the expensive services of a structural engineer but according to the buidling control at the the local planning office, we can do the calulations ourselves and they will check them?
We would be very grateful for any advice you can offer.
Many thanks
