Wow! Now that was a VERY VERY messy job, just check out the picture of my Mum and Tammy!
To gain a few more inches of head height and to make adding down lights into the ceiling much safer and easier, we decided to pull the old ceiling down. What we brought down was 200 years of much and dust that had been stored under the floor boards for all that time. It really was pretty grim, but oddly also very satisfying.
The ceiling was made up of lathes, Norfolk reeds and plaster. It was just as well we had goggles and face masks on as it was so dusty at times you could not see a thing.
