Not content with continuing to dig out the floors, Mark and Dale have removed another wall upstairs between two bedrooms to even up the size of the rooms.
The internal walls in the old parts of the house are incredible, being constructed of Norfolk reeds, lathes and plaster. You can see in the picture just how amazing these look, and can even see the reed heads still on the reeds themselves.
I have included a close up.
This removal was incredibly messy, the dust was horrendous. The remains of the wall were eventually just swept in the foot well of the stairs.
The digging out continued apace, and today Jimmy from Lamberts joined us in the great barrow run!
However, I include a couple of pictures of just how amazing the micro digger is. Below demonstrates just how small a gap the machine can squeeze through. It is designed to fit through door ways of 75cm, the doorway below was just a fraction over that!!
Oh and don’t say anything about Liam’s hat, we just hope it is a fad he is going through!!!

Yes, Mum was having a great time sending a roaring fire up the chimney, even got a little nervous at times! Eeek!
