Phew…what a day! I am amazed at just how much progress has been made in just 1 day! I am please to report:
- The stairs are out and put away neatly ready to be chopped for firewood
- The walls are down in the future ‘Kitchen/Family Room’ and all the rubble piled neatly on the drive ready for collection
To say I am pretty amazed that we achieved all of this in one day would be an under statement. Do I ache? Yes. Did it take a very long shower to remove all the dust and grime? Yes – ages.
Below is a sequence of pics of the stairs in the various state of removal:
- Stairs Front Intact
- Stairs Front Carpet Removed
- Stairs Back Reed and Plaster Intact
- Stairs Back Plaster Removed
- Stairs Removed Back
- Stairs Removed Front
The worst part was when I had to pull out all the reed and plaster, it was grim! The dust was horrendous, glad I had a face mask on. The stairs came actually came out in one piece, which looked pretty perculiar I can tell you!
I shall add another post with some pics of the wall coming down.
