Tammy’s method for planting ‘lots of’ Daffodil bulbs:
- Get Husband to dig a big trench 3 times the depth of the bulbs
- Line bottom with sharp sand (helps with the drainage as daffodils don’t like wet roots)
- Gently sink bulbs into sand
- Rake back soil and gently firm
- Wait for Spring!
And if they are anything like our usual efforts, they will come up blind if at all
Thanks to some good friends we had hundreds of Daffodil bulbs to plant, and having created a new bed at the front of the house we decided to line the front edge. Already looking forward to Sping to see what happens.

Dear Hannant Family
I am the recently appointed Community Liaison Officer for Caring Homes group.
We have 60 care homes for older people in the UK and five in Norfolk.
My role is to encourage community involvement with our care homes, linked to activities we provide for the residents.
I googled “Daffodil bulb planting” and your website came up. Mention of Wymondham Baptist Church alerted me to the fact that you are local (I live in Wymondham), hence the urge for me to make contact.
I am putting together a series of themed activities for next year and one of them is Daffodil Day. The plan was to get our residents “helping” to plant daffodil bulbs so Tammy’s planting instructions were very timely. Thank you.
Best wishes to you all.
