Since I have my first post on the sloe gin recipe we have had a significant influx of visitors to the site, clearly there is a high demand for sloe gin this year!
I guess now we have started to have some ice on the cars in the morning the traditionalists who pick their sloes after the first frost will be stripping local off-licences and supermarket shelves of gin by the basket load!
Well I have been shaking my sloe gin every day since I started following the recipe and the ruby-red colour is getting richer, and it also appears that the gin is starting to thicken up a little, though I am not sure if it is supposed to do this!
I also have a strange phenomenon that two sloes appear to have chosen to float rather than sink like all of the others. I am not sure if this is a good or bad sign
Looking forward to Christmas to try it…I have not even taken a sniff since sealing the bottle.
