Well in an attempt to answer that question we needed to dig a few exploratory holes, 7 in
total! To make things even more interesting, quite a few had to go through quite a bit of concrete. Thankfully Liam Lambert and his colleague Lee Hart from GSD Lambert and Sons were on hand with the heavy duty gear.
There is something slightly un-nerving about watching someone dig your floors up!
However, the benefits are that we now know we can safely install underfloor heating as the foundations are (just about) deep enough. Now we just need to weigh up the costs.
Fortunately there was only one hole required inside; the rest were all outdoors, some of which you can see below. Now we have these answers, we need to get the building plans finalised and some specifications drawn up ready to remove the walls. ‘Just like that’!
