We have appointed an architect, Peter Snell, and had a couple of meetings to talk about our thoughts and plans.
Peter’s first advice was to get a set of measured plans done for the whole house, including elevations. These were completed a couple of weeks ago, and this week we should get our hands on the new plans that Peter has drawn up for us with our alterations in them!
The new plans will mean we can start to get quotes from builders etc. and crack on with the work. The work should be relatively straight forward, knock down a few walls and reverse the stair case (how hard can that be…
)! We are also looking at digging up the entire ground floor - there is no damp proof course under the old parts of the house – and installing underfloor heating. But that is really dependent on the budget.
The 3D model/image was done by a good friend, Steve, who imported the 2D CAD files and produced this! [The yellow lines in the external walls show windows and the red one are doors] This is the ground floor of Waterloo Farm as it is currently and we’re hoping to be able to get a model of the future plans too!
