Well, we got the contracts signed and witnessed and posted off, and the solicitor should receive those tomorrow (Thursday 31st July), and then we’re off on holiday on Friday. No idea when/if the Broadband issue is going to be resolved which is incredibly frustrating. I can’t believe we’ve come this far (and already spent a fair bit of money!) and there’s still a chance that we won’t be buying Waterloo Farm after all. Mostly I’m refusing to believe that would be the case but there is a part of me that can’t help but think about the possibility that we just won’t be able to get Broadband and that this will all have been a waste of time.
Of course, if we can get Broadband, then it’s all systems go, and we are then ready to exchange and complete (which we would do on the same day). We would just need to transfer the deposit/fees money which can be done in a day via CHAPS, and organise the buildings insurance which our IFA can also do in a day for us. I really hope that Broadband is not going to hold up the proceedings (so far it hasn’t as we have only just posted back the contracts) because I imagine Mr P is going to get just about as frustrated as us …
