The survey was carried out this week and we should get the report early next week! I imagine it will be quite a scary read, but I guess knowing what little we do about old buildings (mostly gleaned from watching property programmes on telly!), we accept that it is going to need a fair bit of work done on it, but that is also part of the appeal of the place as we can make it our own.
We have already started messing around with the floor plans (drawn by me based on memory and the measurements from the sale particulars!!), but we’ll definitely employ an architect to do some professional plans for us once we move in and also to tell us if what we want is feasible and how much it’s likely to cost. This will also make organising builders easier as we will have plans for them to work from. Anyway, we’ll see what the report says next week!
Oh, and Mr P’s Home Information Pack (HIP) finally made it to his solicitor’s today, only 3 weeks after he accepted our offer!!
