Despite our vow (after previous disappointments) that we would never let the kids visit another potential new house until after we had exchanged, we have stepped out in faith today as we took them on their first visit to Waterloo Farm. We were both very nervous as we drove them to their ’surprise’!
I think we were both a bit surprised at how much we valued their reaction to the place. Needless to say, they were very excited as we pulled up and announced this is where we are hoping to live! The excitement turned to amazement, especially when we leaned them over the post and rail fence and showed them the bottom paddock and explained that came with the home as well! They insisted on a trip across the paddock to see the top one, so off we trekked. I ended up having to give our 3 year old a piggy back as the grass was up to my thighs and we were in danger of losing him!!
It was a great time, and while the kids ran around terribly excited, we managed to grab a glass of wine with Mr and Mrs P, and it was lovely to meet Mrs P after many weeks of hearing about her – she’s lovely too! (Our kids demolished a packet of nibbles kindly on offer and of course requested the obligatory drink which is always a little embarrassing).
They were also impressed with the house, and the wranglings over bedrooms has already started. We left feeling relieved and pleased that we had taken, for us, a big step. Now we just need to secure the place!
