Well, we have now been in a for a few weeks, and it’s great to get some time to take stock and watch the kids running ‘Little House on the Prairie’ like around the land 
However, it has also been a good time to stop and think about all the last 9 months has thrown up, in particular the building works. I thought I would share you with (for cathartic reasons) my top 5 best and worst moments of the work:
Worst 5
- The builders almost coming to punches with my neighbour in our kitchen – long story!
- Seeing the micro-digger digging so far down into the house water started to appear
- Discovering that rooms we thought we would not have to touch also needed ripping out (bathroom and en-suite)
- Realising that the budget was shot to pieces
- Having to delay moving in by a month
Best 5
- Having our neighbour appear like a Knight in shining armour to pick up the pieces when the original builders left
- Seeing the new window openings in the Family Room (before they were hoarded up) – I did a double take when I saw it
- Walking up the new oak stairs for the first time
- Moving in!
- Having friends and family turn up and lend helping hands
I’ll break into an Oscar acceptance speech in a moment and have us all in tears so will leave it there! LOL
Now it is time to start living the Country Dream for real!
