How cool is this bright purple Picea omorika (Serbian Spruce) cone!

It is hard to tell how small these little cones really are, but the next picture with Tammy standing next to the tree will hopefully give you some idea.

The Serbian Spruce was originally discovered near the village of Zaovine on the Tara Mountain in 1875. It is a medium-sized evergreen tree growing to 20–35 m tall, exceptionally to 40 m tall(!), and with a trunk diameter of up to 1 m.

I am not sure how long ours will take to grow that large, especially when you see it to scale below :) See if you can spot the baby cones at the top of the tree.
