Well I think we are both still in rather a state of shock! After our news this morning we were desperate to return for another visit, this time with our wellies on so that we could ‘walk around the land’. Fortunately someone was available to let us in, and with a quick spot of baby sitting from my Mum we returned to the Farm!
It was just as well we took our wellies, though in time I think that Waterloo Farm is definitely worth a pair of Hunter Wellington Boots- the Prada of the humble wellies ;)!!
It was really amazing to open the traditional 5 bar gate out of the back garden into the bottom paddock, the size was really rather overwhelming. By the time we had reached the top of this paddock we saw into the top paddock for the first time and we just looked at each other with a mixture of dread and excitement – the top paddock is an acre bigger that the bottom one!!
It was wonderful walking around, looking in the hedgerows marking the boundaries, staring into the drainage ditches and listening to the peace and quiet. It really is a lovely spot.
By the time we finally reached the end of the land, the house did look rather a long way away. You would not even hear the phone, let alone reach it before it stopped ringing!
Now the next hurdle begins, the purchase process…
