Mains Pressure Unvented Hot Water & Central Heating!

Mains Pressure Hot Water Cylinder Well all of that might seem a mouthful, but it what it means is that our hot water will be ‘blasted’ out of the taps without the need for a pump! Mains pressure means the hot water comes out of the pipes at the same pressure as the cold water. Unvented means there is no cold water header tanks in the loft waiting to fill up with all sorts of nasties from your loft.

We went for a Range Tribune HE 210litre cylinder and it really looks the business!!! ;) Always important for us that quality of design and feature is also matched by it looking good!

This solution may not be appropriate to everyone, especially if you have low water pressure. However, as we have ended up replacing the main water feed from the meter to the house we raised our water pressure from about 1bar to a range of 4-6bars! Also as we now have entirely new pipe runs in the house. We have 28mm flow and return pipes to carry the water from the mains to the system, and a 22mm spine with 15mm pipes for end rads etc. We can be sure the pressure in the system will not ‘pop’ any old joints under the floor etc.

Kitt Blake is doing a great job of installing it all, and making the pipe work all very neat and tidy. I have a feeling there is more pipes to come in the cupboard, but so far so good!! Hot water and central heating here we come…
